A library computer will be locked after 5 minutes of inactivity, and 15 minutes later it will be automatically logged out so that it becomes available again to others.
Leiden University Libraries increased its rates for international interlibrary loan and document supply (ILL) services by 1 April 2013.
All Leiden University libraries are closed on 19 and 20 May 2013, due to Whitsun.
The University Library is open as usual on Good Friday and Saturday 30 March, but closed over Easter. The other libraries are closed from 29 March to 1 April.

Leiden University Library has temporary access to the database “ IA Reporter ”.
Due to the closure of the university libraries between Christmas and New Year's (except for the University Library) there will be delays in delivery of books that you request between 21 December and 1 January.
The University Library is open as usual between Christmas and New Year's, but closes earlier on Christmas Eve and 31 December. Coffeestar will sell fresh coffee and sandwiches in the library canteen. The other university libraries are closed from 24 December until 1 January (inc).
As from 13 December, the computer work places in the Law Library will run a Windows 7 desktop with Office 2010. Due to the installation, fewer computer work places will be available on the mornings of 13 and 14 December until 10h00.
The University Library is open until late as usual on 5 December, for those who prefer to be good students on 'Sinterklaas pakjesavond'. Other libraries may close earlier, please check this overview.
On the 6th of February 2013 the software of the university wireless network (LUWA/Eduroam) will be renewed. There might be some problems with gaining access to the network or you may notice some short interrupts with your connection to the network.
This week there will be some noise pollution in the library due to construction work at a footbridge.

On Monday 22 October from 5:30pm there will be essential maintenance on the Catalogue.
Due to the local celebration of the relief of Leiden, the libraries of Leiden University will be closed on 2 October from 18h00 and on 3 October (the entire day), with the exception of the Library Learning Centre Faculty Campus The Hague. Leiden University Library has expanded her subscription to ProQuest Dissertations and Theses - Abstracts & Index with full-text access.
Starting Monday 20 August we will apply our normal opening hours again: the University Library and the Law Library will be open til late on weekdays and on Sundays throughout most of the academic year. The libraries' opening hours are different from regular hours over summer.
On Tuesday May 29 after 6 PM you cannot borrow materials from the Walaeus Library, Law Library, the Library of Social and Behavioural Sciences and the East Asian Library. You also have limited access to the Catalogue and Special Collections during this evening, due to a necessary system update.
Starting this week it is possible to restrict searches in the Catalogue to books and other material available in Leiden University Libraries.
