New: Bibliography and Handbook of Pragmatics Online

Taken together, these two databases, a bibliography and an encyclopaedia, give a comprehensive overview of the field of linguistic pragmatics, conceived as the interdisciplinary (cognitive, social, and cultural) science of natural language use.

The Bibliography of Pragmatics Online is an annotated bibliography, combining the data from the older -- printed -- Comprehensive Bibliography of Pragmatics by Jan Nuyts & Jef Verschueren (1987) with later publications until the present day. It is updated annually. As of 2010, it contained over 50,000 records.

The Handbook of Pragmatics Online is an encyclopaedia, consisting of topical articles and brief biographies of eminent scholars. In addition, it offers an extensive overview of research traditions that belong or have contributed to pragmatics, of research methods, and of notation systems. The Handbook of Pragmatics Online incorporates all information from the printed Handbook of Pragmatics (Manual & Installments).
